SIM server provider, iQsim, has rolled into 2013 with a good start. Late last year, the company was honored with INTERNET TELEPHONY’s Product of the Year award for its iQsim Mobile Robot, and it also entered the year with a strong product in its iQsim SMS Campaigner – and this is only one month into the New Year.
The iQsim Mobile Robot is a modular GSM/3G/LTE (News - Alert) mobile testing device that assists with building efficient mobile testing platforms for mobile automation applications, such as mobile quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE), end-to-end testing, roaming, revenue assurance and network management.
The Mobile Robot is a Linux-based open platform that provides hardware-level APIs for the development of functionalities and scripting of tests to determine and control the different aspects of the robot’s behavior. It supports GSM and UMTS channels from a minimum of eight simultaneous channels to a maximum of 16 via four channels increments, according to the company. For scripting, CDRs, voice and data files storage, the device incorporates 8 GB of industrial compact flash capacity.
INTERNET TELEPHONY’s 2012 Product of the Year award is based on companies that demonstrate the most vision, leadership and thoroughness, according to a statement.
“The benefits to using this iQsim SIM server are essentially limitless; the command-based interface, which can rapidly integrate other solutions and existing environments; hardware level APIs for better scripting, which includes scripting for voice and data files, CDRs; as many as 16 2G or 3G channels, or a mixture of both; and support for virtual SIM and local SIM modes,” TMC’s (News - Alert) Susan Campbell reported in November.
Also being touted by iQsim is its bulk SMS solution, iQsim SMS Campaigner. The solution is an IRON feature to schedule, launch and monitor SMS campaigns. Multiples SMS campaigns can be created and managed independently across different countries, with start and stop times that respect appropriate hours to send SMS messages.
“With 95 percent of all SMS messages read within five minutes of being sent, the [use] of SMS as a business tool is considered to be five times more responsive than tools such as direct mailing,” noted the company.
The iQsim SMS Campaigner solution can be implemented either as a cloud service with hosted IRON Suite or as operator-installed equipment with the IRON SIM Server One or the Clustered IRON Suite appliances, the company also assured.
Some of its key benefits include its functionality as a central server and SIM repository, its ability to serve as a decentralized SMS gateway, its SMS campaign organization features and detailed reports on campaign status, among others.
Furthermore, it delivers SMS routing and relay, SMS notification, SMS campaign management, human behavior simulation, SMS credit management, SMPP support, simultaneous call and bulk SMS and Web-based management.
“iQsim Bulk SMS Solutions provide a high quality, professional and secured implementation, based on the state-of-the-art IRON Suite SIM Virtual technology, providing the service-level intelligence to enforce and manage the overall end-to-end solution,” the company concludes.

- SIM Management for Mobile Termination
To offer better rates on local mobile networks, Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) have to optimize Call Termination costs and maximize SIM cards usage. - SIM Management for M2M Platform Validation
The M2M solutions deployment is very complex and difficult to test and validate in the lab. Gateways and probes on-site deployment are subject to numerous constraints such as GSM 3G coverage, unexpected multi-operator roaming, international roaming, tariff and service restrictions. - SIM Management for Mobile Testing
In order for a Mobile Network Operator to be successful, reduce churn and increase customer loyalty, the need to shift from testing network to perform a complete “end to end” QoS Testing has become obvious.
