Evolving Systems has announced that one of its main customers in Mexico has decided to upgrade its existing bespoke SIM card provisioning platform to Evolving Systems' (News - Alert) Dynamic SIM Allocation (DSA) solution.
Noting that the telecoms market in Mexico works on regionalized numbering plans, Thad Dupper, CEO and chairman at Evolving Systems, said that this means operators have to employ a complicated logistics approach where phone numbers and identifiers associated with different regions can only be used in those regions.
Dupper said that DSA bypasses this, enabling this important customer to simplify its SIM supply chain logistics via the creation of a generic universal SIM profile, one that can be used across any region and any product.
For the Mexico-based operator, it’s a complete solution uplift project that includes the end-to-end deployment of DSA and its ancillary modules such as network nodes and HA configuration.
After a thorough analysis evaluation of competitive alternatives in the market, the operator selected Evolving Systems for the upgrade. Company officials said that once the DSA system is in production, the operator will be able to achieve “significantly” higher performance levels and “greater” platform stability than the current system.
In addition, the Mexican operator is also expected to enjoy a full support for all of the operator’s current products, rate plans, and services.
Additionally, the operator plans to use the DSA subscriber menu features to improve the dialogue with its customers via dynamic menu choices as well as offer subscribers promotional incentives such as the opportunity to select their own personalized number.
Evolving Systems is a provider of software and services to 50 network operators in more than 40 countries worldwide. The company's product portfolio includes activation products that address subscriber service activation, SIM card activation, mobile broadband activation as well as the activation of connected devices.

- SIM Management for Mobile Termination
To offer better rates on local mobile networks, Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) have to optimize Call Termination costs and maximize SIM cards usage. - SIM Management for M2M Platform Validation
The M2M solutions deployment is very complex and difficult to test and validate in the lab. Gateways and probes on-site deployment are subject to numerous constraints such as GSM 3G coverage, unexpected multi-operator roaming, international roaming, tariff and service restrictions. - SIM Management for Mobile Testing
In order for a Mobile Network Operator to be successful, reduce churn and increase customer loyalty, the need to shift from testing network to perform a complete “end to end” QoS Testing has become obvious.
