A company founded in 2009, iQsim may be a rookie in the sense of longevity, but the SIM server company is quickly becoming a veteran in virtual SIM technologies.
For proof, you can simply take a look back at iQsim’s accomplishments in 2011 alone, in which the company brought to market its innovative IRON Sim Server One solution, a fully packaged product delivering state-of-the-art SIM server features including SIM allocation and protection and SIM cards storage.
In a conversation with TMCnet, Philippe Bessaguet, CEO of iQsim, said the launch of IRON SIM Server One “reflects years of experience of SIM server technologies,” thanks to the company’s strong lineup of founders – telecom vendors equipped with advanced expertise on designing revolutionary products and appliances for the telecommunications industry. According to Bessaguet, IRON SIM Server One boasts the first-ever release of a new user interface that enables the use of desktop capabilities.
IRON SIM Server One joins IRON Suite, the company’s next-generation flagship product. Since its release in 2009, IRON Suite has been massively adopted by Internet Telephony (News - Alert) Service Providers across the globe as a method for providing quality mobile termination solutions to customers. In order to allocate the most appropriate virtual SIM cards to GSM devices, the IRON SIM Server One embeds iQsim’s IRON Suite technology for optimal SIM management. iQsim’s IRON Suite encompasses IRON SIM Manager for SIM control and protection, IRON Call Manager for call control, and IRON SMS Manager for SMS control.
Earlier in the year, iQsim also made available its Smart SIM Rack, a virtual SIM management platform designed for network QoS testing and M2M deployment validation. A “ready-to-go” solution, the Smart SIM Rack delivers SIM storage, SIM allocation control as well as an advanced API to integrate with third-party applications.
It looks as though iQsim may be looking to make an even bigger splash in 2012, as the company plans to take advantage of a blossoming market and build up its product portfolio. Without revealing too much, Bessaguet did share that iQsim plans to enter two new markets. Whereas the first market will be all about testing, evaluating and maintaining the quality of GSM/3G and LTE (News - Alert) networks, the second market will help iQsim hone in on M2M and investigate vertical segments in which IRON Suite may be useful for managing devices, and thus lower communications costs for these devices.
Specifically, iQsim has its sights on the Asia market.
“iQsim is working very hard on new and innovative products in order to extend the use of the IRON Suite technologies onto other markets,” Bessaguet told TMCnet. “In particular, iQsim will be launching new SIM Racks and Gateway (News
- Alert) products, allowing smaller customers to use SIM server solutions. One of our biggest challenges is to start selling our products in Asia, which is a very promising market for SIM server technologies. In addition, we are working on several new market opportunities for SIM server technologies, which will very likely be unveiled in… 2012.”
As for new developments, Bessaguet is staying pretty mum on what exactly will come from the company in the forthcoming year. He did, however, hint at unveiling a new application for SIM server technology.

- SIM Management for Mobile Termination
To offer better rates on local mobile networks, Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) have to optimize Call Termination costs and maximize SIM cards usage. - SIM Management for M2M Platform Validation
The M2M solutions deployment is very complex and difficult to test and validate in the lab. Gateways and probes on-site deployment are subject to numerous constraints such as GSM 3G coverage, unexpected multi-operator roaming, international roaming, tariff and service restrictions. - SIM Management for Mobile Testing
In order for a Mobile Network Operator to be successful, reduce churn and increase customer loyalty, the need to shift from testing network to perform a complete “end to end” QoS Testing has become obvious.
